Randolf Von Oepen is an accomplished engineer and a prolific inventor. To date, he has over 16 Issued US patents, 50 published pending US applications and many other unpublished applications pending. Randolf\'s inventivness spans many different technology areas, such as Delivery Systems, Catheter technology, Drug Eluting Stent technology and Stent designs and materials. He has designed and co-designed a number of stent patterns for endovascular and coronary stents. One exemplary patent is US 5,916,264 to a stent graft. This invention is utilized in instances where a patient’s vasculature has been punctured during a procedure, which is not addressed immediately and usually leads to patient death – this invention has saved many lives.
