SVIPLA HAS A NEW LOOK!

PRESIDENT\'S MESSAGE

As the new President of SVIPLA, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 2003-2004 year. Our kick-off meeting features a presentaiton from Jason B. Wacha, Vice President and General Counsel of MontaVista Software, who will speak about current topics in open source software licensing and the SCO group lawsuit. I am also pleased to annouce the unveiling of our improved website, www.svipla.com. When complete, the SVIPLA website will allow members to pay dues online, view meeting notices, register for meetings, update contact information and view excerpts and photos of past meetings. I look forward to seeing all of you throughout the coming SVIPLA year.

Prior to joining MontaVista, he was a Vice President and General Counsel for Advanced Data Exchange, an electronic document exchange company providing outsourced Internet EDI and XML services.
