NOVEMBER SVIPLA DINNER MEETING

PRESENTATION: “Spyware and Adware Meet the Lanham Act — The Second Circuit\'s Approach to Pop-up Ads as Trademark Infringement and Implications for the Internet”

SPEAKER: David Ainbender, Rubinstein Law Group

David Ainbender is an attorney with the Rubinstein Law Group, in the firm’s San Francisco office. He is a business litigator and intellectual property attorney, specializing in trademark law and related intellectual property matters. He has also served as an adjunct professor of trademark law. After he received his law degree from Stanford Law School in 1984, Mr. Ainbender practiced for several years in the Bay Area before moving to Los Angeles in 1988 where his practice focused on entertainment and media-related matters, including representing Clear Channel Communications in various trademark and other intellectual property disputes. He has recently returned to San Francisco and now practices law with the Rubinstein Law Group, a full service intellectual property and business litigation firm.

The SVIPLA board of directors recently voted to increase the dinner meeting fee due to increased meeting costs. In order to pay at the member rate, please bring your dues payment to the meeting if you have not already mailed the renewal or new member application and check. Member rates will be assessed beginning at the November meeting.

PLEASE DO NOT MAIL YOUR CHECK - BRING DINNER PAYMENT TO MEETING ON NOVEMBER 17, PAYABLE TO: SVIPLA.

DEADLINE FOR RESERVATION OR CANCELLATION: Noon, November 15. Please make your reservation by the deadline as there are only a few extra spaces allotted at the meeting. The venue may not be able to serve meals beyond the guaranteed number expected for the meeting.

MCLE: This activity has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of California in the amount of 1.0 hour. SVIPLA certifies that this activity conforms to the standards for approved education activities prescribed by the State Bar of California governing minimum continuing legal education.
