PRESIDENT\'S MESSAGE

Greetings: Well, the last couple of years could hardly have been more mind twisting in the ways that the CAFC has interpreted/reinterpreted/invented patent law and litigation. The CAFC’s seeking of certainty has created yet more uncertainty in my view (small surprise).

SVIPLA is your (the IP practitioner’s) collegial organization and meeting place to month-by-month air these many issues with your colleagues, both in-house and outside counsel, throughout the Silicon Valley. As we start this next year, I urge you to encourage your colleagues to come and break bread with us at our meetings and join in our never-ending search for IP truth, IP justice and the IP American way.

Practically speaking come to our meetings, visit our job search (employment) web site, meet the men and women who you work with, want to work with and that want to work with you.

This month’s speaker is Peter Detkin, Managing Director, Intellectual Ventures. I hope you plan to attend.

Robert Q. Guillot, SVIPLA President
